Salt Lake Tribune editor to speak at USU: 'It's OK to Question--Even in Utah' By
the USU department of journalism and communication LOGAN--The editor of The Salt Lake Tribune, Utah's largest newspaper, will speak on press issues next week on the USU campus in the opening Media & Society Lecture of the academic year. James E. Shelledy's topic is "It's OK to Question--Even in Utah." He will talk about the importance of thinking critically and being skeptical, either as a journalist or as a citizen. Shelledy also will engage students and other audience members in Q&A on journalism and related issues, including press coverage of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and subsequent events. The speech will be from noon to 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, in Room 046 of the new Eccles Science Learning Center on the USU campus. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
