Utah State to hold national anthem auditions By
USU athletic media relations
Utah State's athletic department will be host for national anthem auditions to generate a pool of singers for the year's upcoming athletic events. Auditions will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 11 in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on the Utah State University campus. Register at the main entrance on th west concourse of the Spectrum. The auditions will be on a first come, first audition basis. A sound system will be provided and all performances must be a cappella. The Star-Spangled Banner, to the tune of a British drinking song, To Anacreon in Heaven, is notoriously difficult. Frank Sinatra himself called it hard to sing.
