Rating fitness centers and gyms

November 16, 2007 | I stepped into the high-impact
fitness facility. My excitement grew to be more and
more. I was ready for my workout. The day I had planned
out was full, and I knew this workout was really going
to help me endure through it.
Exercising has always been a strong desire of mine.
I have grown a fascination for gyms and all the wonderful
things they provide to people. I began learning about
fitness at a young age. I declared my major in school
involving health and fitness. I even became a certified
fitness instructor. I pondered to myself, there are
so many gyms out there. They couldn't possibly all be
the same high of quality, could they? There must be
some gyms that offer more than another. But could one
possibly say this gym is better. They all have the same
purpose and goal in mind. I decided to put it to the
test and to find out.
My first experience I had was to go to Gold's Gym.
Golds Gym is a highly populated fitness facility on
the market. It's advertised very much so. At one point
in my life I thought, Gold's Gym membership was absolutely
necessary to get in shape. The gym always is overly
crowded with a ton of people. There are many people
there who are training for certain events.
Everyone seems to already be in such good shape. I've
noticed many use it to their advantage to pick up on
people here. Many girls are hardly dressed. The gym
is quite large with much fitness equipment to offer.
Many trainers are there on hand to assist. There are
swimming pools, sauna rooms, bball courts, racquetball
courts, tennis courts, aerobics rooms, weight lifting
areas, tanning beds, hair salons, etc. The gym is packed
with everything you would ever need. There is also a
place to purchase different kinds of vitamins and proteins.
A membership costs about $25-$30 a month.
If you go to the good ol' recreational city center
near my home which is called Marv Jensen's, located
in South Jordan, Utah, you will find a rather simplified
fitness facility. They have a few treadmills. Not too
high-tech ones though. A weight lifting place is also
present. There is a swimming pool, racquet ball courts,
and an aerobics room. The place offers a fun family
environment. Marv Jenson is on the safe side of no one
dressed inappropriately. The cost is about $30 a month.
Then if you go to Ladies Workout Express.
You will find that it is only for ladies to workout
there. You walk in, there are treadmills and fitness
equipment there. Some aerobics classes are offered.
It is quite cheap membership. Very safe environment.
I could see why women would enjoy more of this gym than
others.
Overall according to my observations, I think to some
people a gym is a gym. Why go searching around because
you can get a good workout anywhere you go. Which is
true, but with my own personal preference, hands down
Golds Gym couldn't even come close to comparing with
any gym for me. Golds has always been a personal favorite
of mine. Not only am I employed there, but it fits more
of my style. I think you can tell a lot about a gym
based on the brands of their fitness equipment. I enjoy
working out at a place that is popular and has high
rated equipment. I just hope that more Americans will
value what gyms have to offer.
