Final Exam Week Edition 2: Ethnocentrism. . . .

"More powerful than all poetry,
More pervasive than all science,
More profound than all philosophy,
Are the letters of the alphabet,
Twenty-six pillars of strength,
Upon which our culture rests."

The Polynesian Student Union wants you

By Ryan M. Monk

November 30, 2006 | The Polynesian Student Union needs your support. Tuesday they had to abort a dance practice due to lack of people showing up.

"You don't have to be of Polynesian decent to join," said PSU president Noa Mataele. "We're here to share our culture but we need people to accomplish that."

PSU members regularly enjoy cookouts, luaus and perhaps the best thing of all, learning their traditional dance.

"Just come out and dance," said Mataele. "You don't even have to have rhythm. We can teach them that."

If you want more information about upcoming PSU events, contact them at PSU_USU@yahoo.com or attend one of their meetings held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the Sunburst Lounge of the TSC at 7:30 p.m.
