Would you pay extra for newspapers without holiday ads?

"I would, any time of the year. . . . That's not what I'm paying for; it's just as gratuitous as the ads they now run in movie-houses or telemarketers using your fun to spin their tales. No wonder newspaper readership is down: Before you can read it, you have to weed it."

USU's Ludi Romani celebrates ancient Rome

FRIENDS, ROMANS. . . : The annual Ludi Romani, or "Roman Games" became a twice-a-year event Friday as Dr. Mark Damen and Dr. Fran Titchener hosted their first autumn celebration of all things Roman. Students in the Latin and ancient history classes fight for control of Rome; professors oversee the action as gods and goddesses. Two Aggie students take on the roles of Roman citizens.
Dr. Ted Pease, left, in the role of Neptune, assigns long boats to the warring factions in preparation for the Battle of Actium.
The final battle, for control of Rome, takes place at Actium -- in reality, the floor of the Sky Room in Taggart Student Center, where dice are tossed to determine who lives and who dies.
