Would you pay extra for newspapers without holiday ads?

"I would, any time of the year. . . . That's not what I'm paying for; it's just as gratuitous as the ads they now run in movie-houses or telemarketers using your fun to spin their tales. No wonder newspaper readership is down: Before you can read it, you have to weed it."

By Brock Anderson

November 22 | LOGAN -- Carlos Siberian-Garcia, 29, of Logan, was arrested Nov. 20 and booked into the Cache County Jail on one count of driving under the influence, three counts of forgery, one count of producing a false written statement and one count of unlawful possession of a credit card.

According to Capt. Dave Tarbet of the Logan City Police Department, a citizen called and reported that a car was being driven erratically Sunday morning. Officers located the car and pulled it over at 10 W. 200 North around 10:30 a.m. The driver of the car was identified as Siberian-Garcia.

Tarbet said Siberian-Garcia produced a false identification to the officers during the encounter. The identification had been signed with a false name as well. Officers discovered Siberian-Garcia was also in possession of someone else's credit card.

Siberian-Garcia was being held in the Cache County Jail.
