Halloween stays within the law in Nibley By
Julie Sulunga NIBLEY -- Halloween went off "without a hitch" here, according to the Cache County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Sheriff Haskins told the Town Council Thursday that Nibley did not have any problems with crime on Halloween. There were some traffic stops made to keep children safe but otherwise everything was OK. In his report to the council, Haskins said, "Some residents have expressed concern over the regulatory sign on 800 West. They say the road is too close to the houses and the speed is to high." The posted speed on 800 West is 55 mph. There have been proposals to lower it to 45 mph. Concerned residents say that is still too fast. The council asked Haskins to go talk to residents and come back to the next meeting or at another time. Justin Evans was at the meeting to seek a conditional use permit to sell computer software out of his home office at 580 West and 2775 South. The permit will be approved at a future date because Evans' request was not on the agenda. A motion was made by Counciman Lynn Welker to approve it on the condition that it be on the next council agenda. The motion passed on a unanimous vote.
