Stuck on campus on Turkey Day? Angie's will feed you for free

By Jessica Warren

Thanksgiving break is coming up, and you're going to be here instead of home wrestling with kids and yelling for the mashed potatoes at the other end of the mile-long table. Well, have no fear, because you can just head down to Angie's Restaurant and join in its "family" dinner.

Angie's has been providing a free (that's right, free) traditional Thanksgiving dinner for six years. Owner Saboor Sahely, a USU graduate, made Logan his home, and says that he does this in appreciation to those who helped him become what he is today.

"The valley has been good to me and my family," said Sahely. The dinner is a way for him to give something back.

There will be a donation box for those who would like to give to charity. This year Angie's will be giving to the Bear River House, an organization for the mentally ill. However, donations may be given to any charity of choice.

A donation is not necessary, and Sahely emphasizes that everyone is invited, especially international students and those who have no place to go.

So, if you're not looking forward to TV dinners and Kool-Aid, take Sahely up on his offer, and join the many who visit Angie's on Thanksgiving from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy the trimmings, help Sahely say thank you to Cache Valley, and perhaps grab some spare change from the couch for charity while you're at it.
