Paradise giving an election, but needs candidates

PARADISE -- Two seats are up for election on the Paradise City Council, those of Karen Rinderknecht and Cole Evans, but no candidates have filed to fill them. Council members serve a four-year term with an option of re-election. Rinderknecht and Evans have both served previous terms, and with no names on the ballot at this year's election they may be serving another. This is the first year that no names have appeared on the ballot. Rinderknecht and Evans say they will serve if elected, however neither has been planning on another term. Rinderknecht has served 13 years on the council as recreation and social coordinator. She is involved in putting together Trout and Berry Days, the city's annual celebration. Evans dealt with the town water supply. This included handling water problems to collecting on water bills. Election day is Nov. 2, with voting at the Community Hall from 7 a.m. to 8 that evening. The Hall is at 9035 S. 100 West. Both seats are available for write-ins. Requirements for office include
that the individual must be a one-year resident of Paradise, a registered
voter, 18 years old and have no conflict of interest with litigation. |
