Scrapbook supply store opens in downtown Lewiston

By Aaron Morton

With all the closings of busisness and empty store fronts in Lewiston's downtown, there is some hope of Main Street getting some life from a new business.

Scrapbook Junction, 15 S. Main St., opened its doors April 20 -- a day after owner and operator Karen Corbridge aquired a business license.

"I'm hoping it will work," Corbridge said of the small store that offers scrapbook supplies as well as gifts bags for wedings and holidays.

After "getting hooked" on scrapbooking, she ran a scrapbook supply business out of her home for four years at her home in Lewiston. After the business outgrew her house, she decided to move to Main Street.

A lot of people need scrapbook supplies in the Lewiston area, the former Trenton resident said.

She looked for about six weeks before settling on a storefront owned by Dahley's Heating and Plumming. Corbridge moved in after her landlords carpeted the place for her and was just waiting for Lewiston City Council to hold their meeting to get the business open.

"It was all set, ready to go," she said.

And there is room to expand if needed.

"We'll just cut a hole in the wall (into another room)," Corbridge said.

Scrapbook Junction is open 10 a.m. through 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
