man gets jail for sexual battery

Gittins, 40, Hyrum, was sentenced Monday to one year
in Cache County Jail for sexual battery and another
30 days for interfering with a legal arrest.
Gittins, represented by defense attorney Ronald W.
Perkins, was charged with a class-A misdemeanor of sexual
battery Aug. 17, 2004, and pleaded guilty Jan 31. For
this, Judge Clint S. Judkins of the 1st District Court
sentenced Gittins to 30 days probation, an $800 fine,
counseling as approved by his probation officer and
required him to remain profitably employed. He was also
ordered to have no contact with the victim or the victim's
family.
Also on Jan. 31, Gittins pleaded guilty to a class-C
misdemeanor of interfering with legal arrest, which
he was charged with Dec. 7, 2004. At that same time,
he was charged with disorderly conduct and intoxication.
Judkins sentenced Gittins to 30 days in Cache County
Jail, a $700 fine and anger management counseling.
