Wellsville council postpones vote on subdivision

By Jeremy Wilkins

March 3, 2005 | WELLSVILLE -- The City Council tabled a discussion and vote for the preliminary plat of the Trailside Estates Subdivision on Wednesday night.

The subdivision, which consists of four building lots, would be located on the north side of 400 North from 150 East to 115 East. The subdivision was approved by the planning commission Feb. 23 with the recommendation for a sidewalk on 150 East.

"I don't think that there is enough room to make it look good and make it work," said Councilman Lynn P. Cooper, who actually went and looked at the spot where the sidewalk would be laid. Cooper encouraged other council members who were concerned with waiving the city requirement of the sidewalk to go and view the land themselves and make their own recommendation on whether it would be possible to have it.

A level 2 home occupation permit for painting, which was discussed and approved by the planning commission Feb. 23, for Steve Labrum at 143 West 400 North, was also approved by the council in a unanimous vote.

The council also heard the annual report from Lt. Chad Jensen of the Cache County Sheriff's Office, and decided to wait for the review and discussion of the draft erosion control ordinances.
