Paradise approves motion to annex land By
Ginger Kelley PARADISE -- The Town Council approved a motion Wednesday night for five acres of land to be annexed into Paradise. It will be divided into four lots for homes to be built at 200 West and 9300 South. The long-run goal is to expand the community, Mayor Lee Atwood said. and the annexed acres will serve to advance this goal. "There are still five different bail-out points where the council can deny the annexation," Councilman Dave Anderson said. "The council still needs to make sure the annexation is handled properly," Atwood said, "and that it will not conflict with any zoning ordinances." Councilwoman Margaret Obray said they need to make sure the plan is fair and consistent to all citizens and to resident Phil Olsen, who owns the land that is to be annexed. The council also gave final approval for the Trappers Corner Subdivision at 9100 S. 100 East. The land will be divided into two subdivisions, and a barn on one plot will be removed if the other plot is sold. The Planning and Zoning Committee is still lacking members and several names were discussed. Most members are new and Obray suggested binders that listed all the responsibilities and rules. "The planning and zoning members get a lot of blame and flack," Obray said.
