Professional journalists' Region IX meeting to focus on the West

The USU campus will play host in April to professional and student journalists from throughout the Intermountain West.

The Region IX meeting of the Society of Professional Journalists, representing Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico and El Paso County, Texas, will have meetings, discussions and presentations on "The Growing West: What's Happening."

Logan is about 85 miles north of Salt Lake City in a beautiful high mountain valley. From the SLC airport, take I-15 north to Brigham City; turn east on US 89-91, following signs to Logan. The highway becomes Main Street. The motels listed above are on Main Street. To get to the campus, go east on 400 North Street and turn north on 1200 East. At the traffic light, turn west. Parking is available in the Parking Terrace or in any of the campus lots. Old Main has a tower topped with a large, white "A." It is on the southwest corner of campus.

The Logan Golf and Country Club is at 700 North and 1500 East. From 400 North, turn north on 1500 East and it's the first right turn into the parking lot.
