Wow, Voice Male is a big kid, now, with twin concerts and new CD By

From left, Phil Kesler, Richard McAllister and John Huff perform as half of Voice Male on Friday at USU. / Photo by Ryan White Voice Male, a group of six men, performed in the Kent Concert Hall on the campus at Utah State University on Friday and Saturday -- an unusual double bill for the group, which usually books single nights. The group consists of John Huff, Mike Willson, Phil Kesler, Richard McAllister, Mike Bearden, and John Luthy. Everyone in the group attended USU. Voice Male is an entirely a cappella group. The only beat that they get is from the interesting sounds that come from Luthy, who can make drum noises, guitar sounds and much more. Voice Male has many fans around Cache Valley and as you can imagine most of their fans are the younger girls. Whenever the group started a new song the squeals and screams would be heard. The group is a mix of music and comedy. If ever you have a chance to go to a concert, be prepared to laugh and enjoy the music that Voice Male sings. In their concert they sang the theme song from the Love Boat and the song from diapers commercial, I'm a Big Kid Now. This time around, Voice Male unveiled their new CD. The CD is called Hooked. The songs on the CD are very good. Some of the songs on the CD are Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Oh Danny Boy, and You Are My Only One. Voice Male now has five CD's out and they continue to perform songs from each release. Out in the foyer of the concert hall, CD's were being sold. Their older ones where selling for $10 and the new release was being sold for $15. Each booth had gobs of people around waiting to buy their own copy. The concert started at 7:30 p.m. both nights and the Friday concert didn't get out until 10:15pm. The concert was divided into two parts. In the first section all group members were dressed in slacks with different colored shirts with Regis-like ties, and the second half was T-shirts. Voice Male's music was upbeat and fun to sing along to. After the concert the members of Voice Male were out in the patio of the concert hall signing autographs and having a great time.
