Clover heads for other green fields after final concert

By Bryce Atkins

Clover, one of Utah's more popular local bands, had its goodbye concert the evening of July 15 at the Castle Park amphitheater in Provo.

The members of Clover are just moving on. That is all that has been said.

Brant Paulsen, the drummer, will be serving an LDS mission in Baton Rouge, La.

Mitch Glende, the bass player, is finishing law school and is moving elsewhere to practice law.

Jamen Brooks, the lead singer/guitar player, is going solo. Look for his first solo album in the fall.

Clover has had a career that not a lot of local bands can talk about. It has sold out numerous concerts at Kingsbury Hall. It has released three albums that get a lot of play on X-96, Salt Lake's alternative leader. It has also opened for a few nationally know bands.

Clover has also had its songs featured on the now-canceled TV series Party of Five.

A lot of people wouldn't recognize Clover's music, but those that do know of them know they always put on a good show, and they worked extremely hard at it.

Thanks, Clover, for making real music with meaning.
