L.D.'s Cafe is the heart of
Richmond

February 23, 2009 | RICHMOND -- The rumor says that
there is a fantastic café in Richmond. So I drove to
Richmond to find the white building with L.D.'s Café
in big green letters on the front, near the roof of
the building.
Upon entering the café I could hear country music
playing in the background. All the booth seats in the
main room are salmon-colored and I sat down in one across
from the bar so I can see the staff work and get a feel
for the café. The menu has a great variety of choices
to choose from but I made my choice with the new pastrami
burger they had on the menu.
While I waited for my food I took a look around and
saw that there was a second room full of booths and
a bull pen. The bull pen had to billiard tables, a big
screen TV and a touch-screen juke box. While walking
around I could hear customers talking to the staff and
making jokes to each other. The environment in L.D.'s
is fantastic, it's friendly and homely.
When my burger arrived I was delighted to see how
packed it was with other add-ons to the side. The burger
was delicious and would gladly eat another when I go
back. This was my first time ever going to a small city
café and I can't wait to go back to experience it a
night when it might be more lively.
