"Put a door hanger on saying the water will be turned off on a certain day," said Mayor Lee Atwood. "Unless you get in and pay." The Town Council discussed options for those residents who have become late on water payments to the town. The council will start to place bright yellow door hangers on homes that have an overdue water payment. If payment to the town office hasn't been received by the certain day the water will be shut off. The payment will take care of that month's bill and part of the payment for the late bill. "If you don't pay your bills you get in trouble," Councilwoman Margaret Obray said. "We don't do them any favors by not letting them pay." In other council business, Fire Chief Troy Frederickson presented the department's next fundraiser. The fire department will be selling fully stocked first aid kits to families. "These are comparable to what first responders carry," Frederickson said. Two kits will be sold: a "Citizen Kit" will be available for $35 and a "Police Car Kit," for $59.95. For each kit sold it will bring $5 to the department. The kits can be purchased through Frederickson or online at http://www.safecommunityUSA.com. The kits that are purchased online will still bring $5 to the department. "[It's a] good program to give out to the emergency preparedness people," Frederickson said. During Obray's report on the road conditions the council decided that she needs to assess the road conditions when the snow has melted from them to determine what type of work needs to be done. "Pothole season is upon us," Atwood said. "[We] need to get with the chip-and-seal program." Paradise will hold their annual dog licensing clinic on Feb. 28 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The clinic will be at the town shed, 8990 S. 200 West. For more information on the clinic, contact the Paradise town offices at 245-6737.
