Jensen, Watkins named to head North Logan

NORTH LOGAN -- Mark Jensen was elected chairman of the planning commission
and Cary Watkins as vice chairman by commission at Thursday night's
meeting.
As future goals Jensen said he wants the commission to focus on getting
current listed agendas moving, especially with things the commission
has been working on for a while,
"I don't want to let things on our list to drag on. A main emphasis
for next year is get the general plan rewritten and done," said Jensen,
who is to replace former chairman Russell Goodwin.
Jensen and Watkins, who were former planning commissioners, will start
their new terms Feb 26.
Planning commission members approved property owner Peter K. Olsen's
request for a dog kennel at Canyon Ridge Estates, 1890 E. 2950 South.
Having a third dog made it necessary for Olsen to request a conditional
use permit from the commission.
The commission also approved Green Acres Estates and Bluegrass Estates
minor subdivision development plans. Before the development at 870 E.
and 2650 North can take place a final plat or proposal of the development
plan will be reviewed by city council.
A public hearing is scheduled on Feb. 26 for property owners Corey
and Janie Shenk and their request for a conditional use permit for an
accessory dwelling (apartment) in the basement of a single-family residential
property. Those who plan to live in the accessory dwelling together
must be family related with an exception of one addititonal non-family
member.
