Nibley adjusts plan for new subdivision, then approves it By
Julie Sulunga NIBLEY -- There was a big surprise at the City Council meeting Dec. 7. Another developer was there to get approval for another subdivision. Landowner Dennis Murray and Cache Landmark developer Rod Blossom were at the council meeting to present plans for Phase II of Sheridan Ridge Subdivision. The subdivision will be at 3650 South and 250 West in Nibley. The only problem that arose with the subdivision is to have a bigger strip for grass and trees in between the sidewalk and the road. This grassy area would have to be 8 feet wide. "I am also concerned about the speed on 3650 South, maybe we could possibly get in some speed bumps," said Councilwoman Debbie Lowry. "I noticed people going fast and children having to go to school," said Councilman Scott Wells. The places where speeding would be a problem already have drainage ditches and speed bumps, said Blossom. There was a motion to pass the plans for the subdivision based the agreement that the homes would be moved back 5 feet. This would allow for the 8-foot plan strip to go in and allow room for the sidewalks, Wells said. The motion was passed based on this agreement. In other news, Travis Zollinger seeks annexation into the city. The
council told Zollinger he will probably have to wait a month to this.
He will have to have a survey; plastic plat maps and a public hearing.
As soon as he accomplishes all these things, the council will annex
him into the city based on the criteria that everything goes OK. |
