The Aggies remained unbeaten in the Spectrum and have won their 11th straight home game as they defeated Weber State, 89-77, on Dec. 23 and improve their record to 8 -2.

"Weber State has had our number, it was a great Christmas present," Coach Stew Morrill said.

The victory over the Wildcats was one that USU had wanted for some time. The last time USU defeated WSU was 1997.

"We were waiting for this game for a while," guard Bernard Rock said. "We wanted to show them why we won 28 games last year."

The Aggies opened the game with a 11-2 run as Rock's layup gave USU the nine-point lead. USU never looked back.

"We wanted to get up after them early," Rock said.

The Aggies continue to dominate the first half and took their biggest lead as Curtis Bobb drained a three-pointer to give the Aggies a 17-point margin. But the Wildcats went on a run of their own and Chris Wood hit a 3-footer to bring WSU within nine, the closest that they would come for the remainder of the night.

Bobb, who led all scorers with 20 points, nailed his third three-pointer of the first half to give USU a 12-point lead.

"All my shots came into flow tonight," Bobb said.

Senior guard Dimitri Jorssen had a huge first half as he scored 13 of his 15 points, including a dunk to put USU up by 16 with less than 40 seconds left. Jorssen also had two steals and two blocks.

The second half would be much like the first and the Aggies continued to dominate the game as Bobb would score five straight points to continue to build USU's lead.

"Curtis has been playing real well, he has been so solid mentally," Morrill said. "He's our second leading rebounder."

Bobb would finish the game with six rebounds and made four of seven three-pointers.

Four of the Aggies starters were in double figures including Tony Brown as he went three for six from downtown to finished the game with 17 points

Once again the Aggies continued to dominate the boards and out rebounded their in-state rival 34-29. USU also finished the game 56 percent from the field and allowed WSU to make half of its shots on the night.

Turnovers which use to be a problem for the Aggies earlier this season now seem to be under control as USU turned the ball over only 13 times, below their season average of 18.

With the victory over the Wildcats, the Aggies are now 2-1 in the in-state rivalries.
