professor publishes 'Military and the Press'

and the Press: An Uneasy Truce, a history of press-military
relations in America by USU journalism Professor Michael
S. Sweeney, has been published by Northwestern University
Press.
The book examines the role of
the news media in publicizing information during wartime,
and offers observations about the evolving nature of
press coverage in the age of instant, global communication.
The book, published in August,
is part of Northwestern's "Visions of the American
Press" series. Other books in the series have examined
the black press, the colonial press, and the press and
the American first ladies.
