man sentenced for voyeurism

April 23, 2008 | LOGAN -- Marcus Simmons, 30, of Lewiston,
was sentenced to six months in jail on Tuesday, and
fined $850.
Simmons appeared in 1st District Court before Judge
Dennis Fuchs for sentencing on charges of voyeurism.
Simmons was found guilty of voyeurism, a class B misdemeanor,
at an earlier court date. According to Logan City Police
Lt. Peterson, Simmons was seen peeking in windows on
Dec. 21 around 900 North and 700 East. Police arrested
him and in an interview with police he admitted to looking
into windows.
During sentencing the state asked that Simmons serve
at least ten days in jail.
Simmons will be required to serve the ten days in
jail; the rest of the sentence will be served on work
release. Simmons will also pay all but $500 of his fine.
Judge Fuchs said, "This court will not tolerate this
kind of behavior."
Simmons said, "I am really sorry for what I did, I
made some really bad choices, I am a new person now."
According to Simmons he has, on his own been seeing
a counselor for a couple months.
