Hyde Park to have community breakfast for Memorial Day By
Sarah Mulholland HYDE PARK - On May 27, Memorial Day, there will be a breakfast in the basement of the Civic Center, 113 E. Center in Hyde Park. The proceeds go into the community or a worthy cause in Hyde Park. The Hyde Park Lions Club organizes the Memorial Day breakfast and has it available for the community and all who would like to come and support them. "We are a service organization formed to help our community and others in need throughout the world," said Bob Christensen, president of the club. The breakfast consists of eggs, ham, pancakes, hash brown potatoes, milk and orange juice. Cost is $3 for adults and $2.50 for all under 12 years of age. The day begins with launching of six pyrotechnic salutes at 6 a.m. Breakfast will go from 7 to 10:30 a.m. "We have provided this service to the community for 30-plus years," Christensen said. "We appreciate the opportunity to serve our fellow man."
