Pauly Shore has a few thoughts about sex in Salt Lake City routine

Pauly Shore, known best for his roles in movies such as Son-in-Law, Bio-Dome and Jury Duty, brought his stand-up act to Salt Lake last Sunday.

Shore's unique, no-thought-required style had the sold-out crowd at Wiseguys comedy club roaring with laughter for an hour straight in two back-to-back shows, dealing mostly with his observations of everyday life.

Shore's first Utah joke came in his first two minutes onstage, when he asked the audience, "You guys got like 10 wives -- what's wrong with that?"

The most popular subjects in Shore's act were sex, drugs, sex, drinking, and sex, with an occasional sex joke in between. He quickly picked out a 14-year-old boy sitting in the front row with his parents, and commented to him or his parents several times after making jokes that likely already had the kid turning red. At one point, Shore actually brought the boy onstage, along with a 16-year-old girl also sitting front-row, and tried his best to get them together.

Shore actually made it through the entire night without doing his best-known character, "The Weasel," though he did talk about it, and explained to the audience where it came from.

"I was 17 years old, all my friends were going to college, and I knew I had to do something with my life -- so I got a pen and pad and made a list of rodents," he explained.

Shore ended with a slide show, including several pictures from his movies (including the upcoming You'll Never Weas' In This Town Again), as well as several funny (and usually fake) pictures from his collection, including one of him with George W. Bush.

The show was part of a tour in support of Shore's latest stand-up album, Hollywood, We've Got a Problem, which he sold after the show, while signing autographs for a long line of fans.

Three Comedians opened the show, Salt Lake radio personality Chinaman, Shore's touring partner Steve Stone, and Wiseguys regular Rodney Norman.

Norman will join two other Wiseguys comedians, Craig Bielek and Todd Johnson, for a March of Dimes benefit show at Utah State, sponsored by the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity on Tuesday.
