Pedicure business to open in Tremonton By

Bear River Valley residents may now take "Time Out for Toes," thanks to the Tremonton Planning and Zoning Commission's vote Tuesday to give Connie Getz a conditional-use permit for her pedicure business. Getz explained that a pedicure takes care of feet and toenails. A pedicure includes skin conditioning, toenail clipping, shaping and painting, and a foot massage. The entire pedicure lasts about one hour and 15 minutes. Getz also said she could take care of calluses. Visiting City Council member Shirley Scoffield asked Getz is she had a license. "You do not have to be state licensed to touch hands and feet in Utah," Getz said. She then explained that she was certified by Utah, but not licensed. Getz was certified through Peerless Beauty and Barber Supply of Ogden/Salt Lake City. She also explained that she would have only one customer at a time. Scoffield also asked Getz how she would be advertising her business. Getz responed, "Mostly be work of mouth, at first." The commission accepted Getz's reponses and unanimously approved the permit. At 317 N. 100 West St., Time Out for Toes will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.
